BIESSE CARRERA PREMAC. NINE TEAMS READY TO LIVE A GREAT SEASON

CONTINENTAL | 17/02/2025 | 08:00

The curtain has risen on the 2025 season of the Team Biesse Carrera Premac, a Brescia cycling team that officially kicked off the new year with a presentation of all its formations at the Sullivan hotel in Ponte San Marco (Brescia), preceded by a photo shoot at the Padenghe castle.

An "army" of young male and female promises that make up a complete pipeline ranging from the UCI Continental team to the base composed of the youngest categories, passing through Beginners, Cadets and Juniors of both sexes. At the presentation, conducted by Ciro Corradini, authorities and well-known faces from the cycling world also participated, such as former sports director Davide Boifava and Stefano Pedrinazzi, president of the Lombardy Cycling Federation.

THE FLAGSHIP: THE CONTINENTAL FORMATION - Also for the 2025 season, the flagship will be the Continental formation, again led by sports directors Dario Nicoletti and Marco Milesi. The roster, a mix of confirmations and novelties, will see sixteen elements, with a strong youth connotation: the group will be entirely Under 23 with the exception of Tommaso Dati (confirmed) and Federico Iacomoni (new), the only two Elite riders. Six first-year riders, half of whom come from the team's youth system, while overall eight elements will wear the Lombard team's jersey for the first time. In less than a week, the seasonal debut with the double appointment on Saturday, February 22nd at the Coppa San Geo and the Firenze-Empoli.

"We are well prepared for the seasonal debut" - says Marco Milesi - "we come from three weeks in Spain where we worked well and are confident for the 2025 debut, the guys are doing well and some are already brilliant. This year we have an even more complete roster, with a few more men for the classics, the new arrivals are targeted and of quality, then among the confirmed riders Arrighetti and Gruszczynski are a guarantee after a high-level 2024. As always, we welcome many young first-year Under 23 riders, several come from our youth system: they will gradually be our future, they are 6 class 2006 of quality". "Our calendar" - echoes Dario Nicoletti - "is based on previous years, but having three more riders in the roster we have expanded the range of races. We have tried to maintain the high quality of the events we participate in; we will do a few more stage races in Italy and a few more forays abroad in one-day international races. Additionally, we will have a few more appointments with professionals. Even the first-year Under 23 riders, once they finish high school, will have the opportunity to gain experience in stage races".

THE YOUTH SYSTEM - If the Continental team is the top of the pyramid, at the base there is a youth cycling pipeline, also this year complete. In the male field, a trio of formations with Beginners, Cadets and Juniors, identical discourse in the female field, where in 2024 the Women Juniors team dominated the national scene. All without forgetting the enthusiasm of the youngest, the Giovanissimi, and the presence of Elite athlete Elena Bissolati.

THE PRESIDENT'S WORDS - "Our reality - says president Simone Boifava - "puts about 70 athletes in the saddle starting from the Giovanissimi, through Beginners, Cadets and Juniors with both female and male teams, up to the first team, the UCI Continental team, which in recent years has regularly positioned itself among the best teams in Italy. I think this society is a unique case in Italy and among the very few in the world to have a youth system that covers all categories with a high-level outlet in the first team. It's my first year as president, I'm proud to undertake this new adventure in a great team, at the same time a very familiar and professional environment that cares about the gradual growth of young people, not only in a strictly cycling sense. Let's remember that there are riders before being cyclists. I thank the sponsors who support us, the authorities present and wish everyone a good 2025 on the pedals".

SEASONAL DEBUTS - The Continental formation will debut on Saturday, February 22nd with the double appointment at the Coppa San Geo and the Firenze-Empoli. For the Juniors, the first race will be on March 2nd in Volta Mantovana, while for Cadets and Beginners the inaugural appointment is scheduled for March 23rd in Camignone. In the female field, the Juniors will start their first number on Sunday, March 9th in Nonantola, with the "orange babies" in the saddle on March 23rd.
