It's surprising how time can pass so quickly when we are immersed in significant experiences that touch our hearts, challenge us, and make us question ourselves. The Team Siracusa Accademy Cycling, guided by the infinite love of President Concita Pintaldi and Flavio Liotta, promoted an extraordinary event that involved the entire community, with the patronage of the municipal administration led by Mayor Francesco Italia and champion Giuseppe Gibilisco as Sports Assessor: all united, all together for Noemi. Agata Ingala and Tommaso Rotondo Cocco are Noemi's parents, a child born prematurely, who fought to survive facing various complications due to prematurity. Today Noemi is 5 years old, has psychomotor delay, right hemiparesis, and is affected by ICP infantile cerebral palsy. The existence of SELECTIVE DORSAL RHIZOTOMY was discovered, a procedure that eliminates spasticity in the lower limbs, giving her the possibility of walking short distances independently, significantly reducing the risks of pain and joint malformations. This intervention is performed by a medical team in Saint Louis: not a simple path, as it involves not only the surgery but also a week-long hospitalization and intensive rehabilitation of about two months. An important financial commitment that led Noemi's parents to seek help to make Noemi's great dream take flight. We live in an era where exteriority receives much more attention than interiority, but sports and cycling expressed in Siracusa have proven to be a counter-current reality, capable of offering gratifying solidarity that does not enrich us materially but improves us. And at the center of it all is Noemi, with her body, her will, her dreams, and once again sports teach us that value cannot be bought, only donated. The trust and support demonstrated by Siracusa represent something precious, unique, and infinitely great. And we hope that all this can help Agata, Rocco, and Noemi fulfill their dream.
