TIRRENO-ADRIATICO TURNS 60, 2025 EDITION PRESENTED

Seven stages, 1,130 km, and 14,610 meters of elevation gain. These are the key numbers of the Tirreno-Adriatico Crédit Agricole that was unveiled today at the Teatro della Concordia in San Benedetto del Tronto. The 2025 edition will be the 60th Race of the Two Seas, all consecutive, an important milestone for a race that year after year has been able to reinvent itself, becoming a true focal point of the cycling season, as confirmed by recent editions that, from 2019 onwards, have seen winners who have triumphed in the Grand Tours such as Simon Yates, Primož Roglič, Tadej Pogačar, and Jonas Vingegaard. The long journey through central Italy, which will touch five regions, will start on March 10 from Lido di Camaiore with an individual time trial and conclude on the 16th, as is customary, in San Benedetto del Tronto. In between, the usual mix of stages for sprinters and opportunities for finisseurs before the Cartoceto-Frontignano stage, a testing ground for climbers with a finish on an unprecedented climb.
TWO SEAS, 59 LEGENDARY EDITIONS
From Dino Zandegù to Jonas Vingegaard. The Tirreno-Adriatico Crédit Agricole has told many stories of champions in this long journey that began in 1966 and never stopped. Italy and Belgium shared the first editions of La Corsa dei Due Mari, which from 1972 to 1977 saw Roger De Vlaeminck rise to the top of the podium six consecutive times. "Monsieur Roubaix", in addition to holding the record for overall victories, is also the rider who has won the most stages: 15 compared to Oscar Freire's 11. Behind the Belgian, with two overall victories, we find Giuseppe Saronni (1978, 1982), Francesco Moser (1980, 1981), Rolf Sørensen (1987, 1992), Tony Rominger (1989, 1990), Vincenzo Nibali (2012, 2013), Nairo Quintana (2015, 2017), Primož Roglič (2019, 2023), and Tadej Pogačar (2021 and 2022).

The novelty is the uphill finish in Frontignano, an unprecedented finale that could be decisive for the Blue Jersey, before the classic finish in San Benedetto del Tronto."
