Frank Schleck will guide Elisa Balsamo, Gaia Realini, and other athletes of Lidl-Trek from the team car: in recent days, the American team led by General Manager Luca Guercilena has officially announced the Luxembourg rider's entry into the technical group of the women's team.
For the older of the Schleck brothers, who will turn forty-six on April 15th, joining Lidl-Trek is essentially a return to the structure where he raced in the final part of his career. "It's fantastic to be back. This team means a lot to me, and I'm very proud to return to a place with so many beautiful memories," said Frank, who can boast nineteen victories in his professional cycling career.
And further: "Coming from the outside, I immediately recognized the strength of the project. During the October training camp, I understood how everyone is committed to always doing better. I'm grateful for the opportunity and very excited to be part of the project and want to contribute my experience to help the team achieve its goals".
In addition to Frank Schleck, Lidl-Trek has also announced the entry of Bernie Eisel into their technical group. Born in 1981, the Austrian started his professional cycling career with Mapei and hung up his bike in 2019 after obtaining sixteen victories, including the 2010 Gent-Wevelgem and the Davos stage at the previous year's Tour de Suisse.
