Although she had said she would not fly to Rwanda for the World Championships, Tour de France Femmes winner Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will actually be one of the protagonists in the world championship challenge in Kigali. The French Cycling Federation has officially announced the names of the athletes selected by Team Manager Paul Brousse for the race on September 27, and the name of the talented 33-year-old French athlete is among them.
Brousse himself explained: "After the Tour, the priority was already to recover physically and psychologically. But then, perhaps considering that she hasn't raced much this season, Pauline felt able to make further sacrifices to prepare for two important end-of-season objectives: the World Championships and the Europeans".
Alongside the French champion will be Léa Curinier, Cédrine Kerbaol, Juliette Labous, Marie Le Net, Evita Muzic and Maëva Squiban. The individual time trial will be tackled by Kerbaol and Labous, while Maëva Squiban will also be fielded for the mixed relay.
