After officially announcing the entry of Magnus Bäckstedt, who will be one of the team's technicians next year, Human Powered Health has recently announced a contract extension with Silvia Zanardi. The Emilian sprinter and track cyclist, winner of the U23 continental title in Trento in 2021 and six other road races in her career, will wear the team's jersey at least until the end of 2027.
"At Human Powered Health, I've found wonderful people who believe in me and are giving me the opportunity to grow and improve day by day without stress, which I think is the most important thing," Zanardi stated. With the orange jersey of Human Powered Health, she won the Choralis Fourmies Féminine 2024 and narrowly missed the podium in the final stage of the UAE Tour Women this year.
Twenty-five years old in March, Silvia has achieved top-10 finishes five times this season and participated in two of the three Grand Tours: Vuelta Espana Femenina and Giro d'Italia Women.
"Silvia is fundamental to our train and a sprinter with an excellent final sprint. She has proven to be a reliable card to play in race finales, and her contribution is extremely important when we focus on a team objective," said the team's General Manager Ro De Jonckere. He added: "We know that many more satisfactions will come from Silvia in the future."
The Piacenza athlete further stated: "At Human Powered Health, I've found a truly valuable, united group where everyone works hard to support us athletes. All that remains for us to do is to think about pedaling and winning."
Silvia is expected tomorrow at the fourth edition of the GP Lucien Van Impe, which will take place in Erpe-Mere, Flanders.
