He had started the Vuelta Burgos with an unfortunate crash in the first stage, but in the final fraction, Giulio Ciccone achieved his victory goal: "Today was the toughest stage, the one I wanted to win from the beginning, our objective. The week wasn't easy, with the crash and the heat, I didn't feel comfortable in the first stages".
Giulio had shown he was in form, nearly winning at Valpuesta: "I was a bit disappointed not to have won two days ago, but today I succeeded. Of course, I knew I had a bit more opportunity by not being in the overall classification, so I took advantage of the situation".
There were no shortage of compliments for Del Toro, who attacked with Ciccone in the final kilometers, challenging him for the win: "Racing with strong opponents like Isaac is something I like because it always allows me to have a reference point to measure myself against. With a rider of Del Toro's caliber, it's always better not to wait for the sprint, so I decided to try and anticipate".
Finally, a look towards the Vuelta Espana. "In these days we've raced some beautiful stages with a lot of heat, certainly an excellent preparation for the Vuelta, which I'll tackle with great motivation and the desire to do well".
