The Tour de Serbie 2026 opens with a victory for a home rider, wearing the national jersey: Ognjen Ilic triumphs in the short prologue of 2.3 km raced in the town of Pozarevac, beating by just a few tenths of a second Poland's Michal Pomorski of ATT Investments and Hungary's Marko Toth of Team United Shipping, third at two seconds. Obviously, the representative of the Serbian national team also becomes the first leader of the race. Ilic is a solid time trial specialist, having been selected by Serbia for the World Championships in Canada, where he finished 35th, and also at the Mediterranean Games, where he placed seventh. Furthermore, he is a three-time national time trial champion (with six second-place finishes) and once on the road.
