The last race of the 2026 amateur season in Tuscany was the 74th Coppa del Mobilio, the classic that has been held in Ponsacco since 1958 with the format of a road race in the morning and a time trial in the afternoon for the top 15 finishers from the morning stage. The first to celebrate at the finish line on via Vanni was Empolese Andrea Biancalani who with a magnificent sprint outpaced five breakaway companions. A very fast stage (over 47 km/h average) for this classic also counting for the Silvano Marchetti Memorial with 69 starters from 12 teams. The decisive breakaway formed after 58 kilometers with Belleri, Perani and Bonaldo, caught at km 77 by the two Britons Wood and Harding, by Biancalani and Bertoncelli. On the Santo Pietro Belvedere climb, Perani lost contact with the "seven-man group" and six riders remained at the front who held on until the end despite the chase from the peloton. In the sprint, Biancalani, who had won a few days earlier in the province of Cremona, managed to contain Wood's comeback attempt, securing his second victory of the season. In the afternoon time trial, success went to twenty-two-year-old Samuele Alari of S.C. Padovani Polo who also claimed the overall victory in the 2026 Coppa del Mobilio.
Alari, as team manager Alessandro Petacchi stated, was plagued by misfortune this season with mononucleosis first and a couple of crashes afterward that kept him inactive. After this success, his first of the season, he will compete in Piedmont on Saturday, October 24th in the Under 23 Italian Time Trial Championship given his time trial abilities. For S.C. Padovani Polo, this was the nineteenth victory of the season in Tuscany, along with 16 second-place finishes and other placings. Good performance against the clock also from Basso who achieved his sixth second-place finish of the season and from Briton Harding who finished in the top positions and by virtue of the times it was the MG Kvis Costruzioni e Ambiente rider from England who obtained second place in the combined classification. Brilliant also the performance of the youngest time trial rider Sgherri, class of 2007, who claimed fourth position. Excellent organization by Ciclistica Mobilieri Ponsacco under president Franco Fagnani with the presence of Federciclismo national vice-president Saverio Metti and for the Municipality of Ponsacco, mayor Gabriele Gasperini who started the road race and assessor for sports Alessandro Barachini present at the final awards ceremony who placed the special jersey on winner Alari.
For Samuele Alari this is a particularly significant return to victory. The Bergamo rider from Padovani Polo Cherry Bank had not raised his arms to the sky since June 3, 2023, the day he won the Lombardy Time Trial Championship in Romanengo. Over three years later, he finds victory again precisely against the clock.
