An Olympic champion for Jayco AlUla: Oliver Bleddyn will make the jump to the WorldTour group by signing his first professional contract for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The twenty-four-year-old Australian spent the last two months as a stagiaire and is preparing to shift his focus from the track to road racing.
Bleddyn
was part of the Australian team pursuit quartet that triumphed at the velodrome in Paris 2024, alongside his new teammate Kelland O'Brien, and won gold in the individual pursuit at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier this year.
"I'm thrilled to join Team Jayco AlUla. Having grown up in Australia following this team, it's always been a squad I wanted to be part of. Seeing the culture that has been built over the years makes the opportunity to join now truly special. There are great opportunities on the horizon for me and I'm eager to make the most of them. The Tour Down Under would certainly be a special race for me: racing at home with this team is an opportunity that excites me greatly".
For his part, Gene Bates, the Australian team's performance manager, comments: "Oliver has solid track experience and therefore possesses extraordinary power. He's an exceptional and enthusiastic young rider who is also gaining considerable road racing experience as a stagiaire with the team in this second half of the 2026 season. We're confident that Oliver will be an excellent addition to the team, fulfilling various roles".
