The final cycling appointment in the province of Arezzo with the 49th Trofeo Mario Zanchi-Fosco Frasconi-Trofeo Festa Patronale reserved for elite and under 23 riders, organized by Gs Acli under the direction of Sirio Chiodini. Lorenzo Magli of Team Hopplà emerged victorious with his sixth win in a brilliant season where he has been a constant protagonist. With the uphill finish in the Aretine locality, Magli arrived solo with a three-second advantage over junior Bellato who, along with other junior category athletes, competed in this end-of-season event and brilliantly secured second place.
Monister took third place completing the success for the team of patron Claudio Lastrucci, whom we expect to see in cycling again next season but very likely with some significant news. The Aretine race, directed by Carnasciali and Casucci, saw 93 riders take the start. Now in Tuscany there are two final events for elite and under 23 riders: next Sunday the Gp Ezio Del Rosso in Montecatini Terme and Tuesday, October 13th the Coppa del Mobilio in Ponsacco. In 2027, when the race celebrates its golden anniversary, we can anticipate that the Trofeo Mario Zanchi will return to being held in spring in the month of April. We conclude with thanks to our Aretine colleague Fausto Sarrini, always passionate about cycling and a valuable collaborator, and to race judges Marcello Occhini and Bruno Batelli for their availability.
