Italy presents a competitive lineup composed of Enrico Balliana, Brandon Fedrizzi and Patrik Pezzo Rosola for the men's category, while the women's trio will be formed by Azzurra Ballan (gold in the road race), Elisa Bianchi and Matilde Rossignoli. The Italian team aims to play a leading role in a discipline that rewards not only individual qualities, but also team cohesion and perfect management of effort between men and women.

Among Italy's main rivals are especially Germany and Switzerland, nations that have particularly competitive and quality rosters. Attention should also be paid to Slovenia, which will be able to count on home crowd support and the motivation of racing on familiar roads. In the group of contenders for a prestigious placement, Poland and Austria also deserve mention, both credited with the role of possible outsiders.
