The queen of San Luca is Alessia Vigilia. The Bolzano rider from Uno X has triumphed at the 2026 Giro dell'Emilia women's race. A solo finish for the 27-year-old who made the difference 30 km from the finish line, showcasing her climbing abilities. The class of '99 rider from Uno-X Mobility crested the first San Luca climb with a 2'18" advantage. The group behind her, composed of around twenty athletes, reduced the gap under the impetus of Team Visma | Lease a Bike, but the leading athlete maintained a sufficient margin to cross the finish line solo.
In a race characterized by many absences due to the concurrent European Championship (which we are covering live), the Italian athlete managed to prevail clearly, dropping Canadian Sarah van Dam (Team Visma Lease a Bike) and Ailish Lauren Dickson (FDJ United Suez). In the top ten of the day, in tenth place, Monica Trinca Colonel of Jayco Alula, fresh world champion of the mixed relay team.
"I am happy and amazed. This success comes after a busy season in which I started racing in Australia and took part in the most important grand tours. The palmares of this race is prestigious and gives me momentum towards my next objective in the Italian national jersey," said the winner, who will compete in the mixed relay at the continental event in Slovenia with Elisa Longo Borghini, Monica Trinca Colonel, Mattia Cattaneo, Marco Frigo and Matteo Sobrero.
