Penultimate race in Tuscany for the junior category which will close the season on October 18th in Montenero in the province of Livorno. After the Giro delle Valli Aretine for Elite and Under 23 held in July, here comes Sunday, October 4th the "Valli Aretine" in Rigutino with the 21st edition of the Butintoro Trophy-13 Mario Giaccherini Trophy at stake.
The official start after a brief transfer from Sant'Andrea to Pigli at 1:30 PM, then Olmo, Pieve al Toppo, Montagnano, Frassineto, Rigutino, Vitiano, Castiglion Fiorentino, Camucia, climb towards the splendid Cortona after 42 km, then descent to Ossaia, back to Camucia, Castiglion Fiorentino climbing in the upper part, at kilometer 65. Following Vitiano, Rigutino, Olmo, the crossing of the city of Arezzo (via Romana, via Fratelli Rosselli, via da Maiano, via Giotto, via Signorelli, via Anconetana), then around the ninetieth kilometer the climb to the Scopetone pass, before the last difficulty that of the Passo della Foce at approximately 25 km from the finish.
117 athletes from various regions are registered for the race and there will also be the champion of Guatemala, three South Americans and an Englishman. The event is organized by the Comitato Sportivo Città di Arezzo and last year at the Rigutino finish line Matteo Paltrinieri won ahead of Uguccioni and Bolognesi.
