Ahead of the official presentation of international races for 2026 scheduled for tonight at 6:00 PM at Ville Ponti in Varese, Società Ciclistica Alfredo Binda confirms an important announcement: Varese will be the heart of world youth cycling in 2027. Piccola Tre Valli Varesine has been chosen by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) as the host venue for the Grand Final of the new UCI Junior Road Nations Cup, the international competition that from next year will bring together the best junior talents through a new and ambitious format on a global scale.

The final will take place from July 29 to August 1, 2027 and will see the participation of 26 men's teams and 26 women's teams, with representatives from all five continents. For each category there will be ten teams from Europe, four from Asia, four from Africa, four from the Americas and two from Oceania, plus the national team of the host country and the UCI World Cycling Centre team.

This is a major innovation in the international youth cycling landscape and an important recognition for Varese and for Società Ciclistica Alfredo Binda, organizer of Piccola Tre Valli Varesine.

The UCI Junior Road Nations Cup was created with the aim of strengthening the international development pathway for young riders and offering new generations an increasingly global competitive calendar.

The first edition of the new format will develop throughout 2027 through 11 events between February and July, distributed across Europe, the Americas, Oceania and Africa, with an additional Asian event still to be confirmed. Each event will include a men's and women's race and will primarily feature national selections composed of five riders, prioritizing representatives from the continent where the competition takes place, also to encourage participation and reduce travel.

The new UCI project also includes four classifications, two for men and two for women: continental classifications will determine access to the Grand Final, while national classifications will also contribute to the allocation of quotas for the Junior Road World Championships. In calculating results, placements obtained at Continental Championships and previous Junior World Championships will also be considered.

The season will culminate in the province of Varese, where the best young riders selected through the Nations Cup international pathway will gather. For Piccola Tre Valli Varesine it will be a significant step up: from a historic national race dedicated to juniors to the concluding stage of a UCI project involving young riders from around the world.

The assignment of the Grand Final also represents an important vote of confidence in Società Ciclistica Alfredo Binda, which for over a century has organized cycling events in Varese and has consistently combined its tradition with a continuous capacity for innovation.

Tre Valli Varesine, founded in 1919, is the symbol of this history. Alongside the great professional classic, SC Binda has always devoted particular attention to youth development: Piccola Tre Valli Varesine was born in 1967 precisely with this objective and is one of the most important appointments on the national calendar each year. Today, almost sixty years after its creation, Piccola Tre Valli takes a further step forward by becoming the Grand Final of the new Nations Cup.

A path that also includes the extensive experience gained by SC Binda in organizing international events, starting with the 2008 Varese Road World Championships, one of the most important appointments in recent Varese cycling history, to the most recent international events organized in the territory.

The ability to engage with major events, new categories and new formats has led the Varese-based society in recent years to also create the Tre Valli Varesine Women's Race | e-work for Elite Women, pushed it towards international cyclocross, with the organization in Varese of the UCI Masters Cyclo-Cross World Championships, and towards the gran fondo sector, with the Gran Fondo Tre Valli Varesine and Gravel events.

A history made of tradition, but above all of the ability to interpret the evolution of cycling.
