The 43rd edition of the Piccolo Giro dell'Emilia has been presented, taking place on Sunday, September 27th: the autumn cycling classic for Under 23 / Elite riders, included in the National calendar of the Italian Cycling Federation and organized by SC Ceretolese 1969, follows the tradition that sees Zola Predosa & Casalecchio di Reno as the natural location for the race.

The spacious and comfortable square of the Municipality of Zola Predosa will host the colorful caravan, which will come alive from 10 in the morning with the colorful and iconic jerseys of the riders: at the start there will be all the most representative national teams plus two teams of foreign origin.

The start is scheduled for 1:30 PM from Via Risorgimento in Zola Predosa. The finish is expected around 5:00 PM / 5:15 PM on Via Risorgimento in Zola Predosa.

The route, the classic and proven one, initially develops through the valleys of the Reno and Samoggia rivers, concluding in the last two hours of racing on the hilly circuits of San Lorenzo in Collina and the climb of Via Montevecchio for the joy of roadside fans. Zola Predosa, Casalecchio di Reno (official start), Sasso Marconi, Marzabotto, Pian di Venola, Cà Bortolani, Savigno, Zappolino, Stiore, Monteveglio, Zappolino, Stiore, Muffa, Zola Predosa, then 3 laps of the San Lorenzo in Collina circuit, then 2 laps of the circuit characterized by the climb of Via Montevecchio, finishing in Zola Predosa, after 152 km and over 2000 meters of elevation gain. It was precisely the climb of Via Montevecchio that last year provided the advantage that allowed the Zalf jersey pair to break away and Giovanni De Carlo to win the race.
