Paolo Traversi, from Florence, based in Settimello di Calenzano, president of the Virtus VII Miglio cycling club has achieved his dream, that of hosting at Mugello in the area of the International Racetrack in Scarperia the Men's and Women's Master Cyclocross World Championship.

A task assigned by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) not for one but for two years, in 2027 and 2028. The decision was made during the 195th Congress of world cycling held in Montreal in Canada on the occasion of the ongoing World Championships, with the president of the Calenzano-based club himself present, having flown to Canada confident in a positive decision from the world's highest cycling authority.

Virtus VII Miglio, already organizer of prestigious events, will be called upon to organize the Master World Championship (this year the event at the end of November will also take place in Italy in Varese) on December 3rd and 4th, 2027 and in 2028, on the 2nd and 3rd of the same month. Naturally, great satisfaction from president Paolo Traversi who, with his proverbial dynamism, will soon get to work to organize in grand style the first of the two cyclocross world events. Satisfaction for the decision also comes from the Italian Cycling Federation (national vice president is another prominent figure from Settimello, Saverio Metti) and from the Tuscany Regional Committee chaired by Luca Menichetti. The Mugello and Scarperia area, venue for the two world championships, has already hosted national and international cyclocross events and has all the facilities to ensure the full success of the two world events.
