It's a week worth framing, and of great prestige, for Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone. On Tuesday, September 22, Leonardo Meccia conquered the Coppa Collecchio, signing the team's seventh victory of the season, achieved by six different riders, demonstrating the solidity and quality of the group. At the same time, in Montreal, Alessandro Cattani is competing at the UCI World Championships in a double commitment with the Italian National team, which began on Monday, September 21 with the Under 23 time trial and will continue on Friday, September 25 with the U23 road race: a double stage unprecedented in the history of the Emilia-Romagna cycling project.

In Collecchio, on the roads of the Parma region, Meccia built an impeccable performance, managing to drop the group approximately ten kilometers from the finish and controlling his advantage all the way to the line. For the rider from Cesenatico, it's the most important victory in the Under 23 category. Behind him, Lorenzo Magli of Team Hopplà secured second place by winning the sprint of the chasers, while completing the celebration of the Emilia-Romagna team was the third place finish of Marco Martini. Mattia Ballerini finished fifth: three team athletes in the top five.

In Montreal, in the Under 23 time trial at the World Championships on Monday, September 21, Alessandro Cattani finished in 21st place. Italy claimed the silver medal thanks to fellow Italian Nicholas Milesi. On Friday, September 25, Cattani will return to racing in the Under 23 road race: another opportunity to represent the Italian colors on the biggest stage in world cycling.

Having an athlete selected for both World Championship events in the same season represents a milestone in the history of Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone. Cattani had already been called up to the National team for the Tour de l'Avenir in summer and the Tour of the Alps in spring, just as Tommaso Anastasia represented Italy at the Tour de l'Avenir, Tommaso Bambagioni at the Tour of the Alps, and Alessio Menghini at the Tour of Romania.

The 2026 season record speaks for itself: seven victories with six different riders, four athletes called up in the Italian jersey – Cattani, Anastasia, Bambagioni, and Menghini – and a constant presence at the top of the Under 23 category, both at national and international level. A path that confirms the solidity of the Emilia-Romagna project and the quality of the work carried out by the technical staff.

The project, conceived in 2019 by Davide Cassani and promoted by APT Servizi Emilia Romagna and Consorzio Terrabici, is chaired by Gianni Carapia and benefits from the technical guidance of sports director Francesco Chicchi, supported within the technical staff by Michele Coppolillo, Mauro Calzoni, and Andrea Gallo, with Gian Luca Giardini in the role of project manager.

The main sponsor is Technipes, a company from Santarcangelo di Romagna chaired by Raffaele Barosi, which since 2023, following the transition to "Continental" status, has supported the team with conviction, making possible the growth of a project that has already launched Manuele Tarozzi and Ludovico Crescioli into the professional ranks and which, year after year, is carving out increasingly more space at the Continental level.
