The wonderful story of the Giro di Campania cycling race in a book by Gian Paolo Porreca that will be in bookstores and will be presented next autumn. The return to the UCI international calendar of the Giro di Campania has provided the opportunity to tell the long history, edition after edition, of one of Italy's oldest races, founded in 1911 and conceived and organized by Il Mattino of Naples. A story spanning over 116 years, told by Gian Paolo Porreca, historic contributor to Il Mattino and one of the great chroniclers of professional cycling in Italy, published by LeVarie.

To celebrate and honor the return of the Giro di Campania, scheduled for September 20th, we present an exclusive preview of the cover, created by Andrea Delehaye, which pays tribute to five great champions of the two wheels, five emblematic figures from the honor roll of the most beloved race in our region: Learco Guerra, Gino Bartali, Fausto Coppi, Giuseppe Saronni and Francesco Moser.

Gian Paolo Porreca's volume will be enriched by a foreword from former professional and Italian national team coach Davide Cassani and two unpublished stories: by Gianfranco Coppola, national president of Ussi, on the history of Neapolitan sports journalism, incredibly intertwined with the Giro di Campania, and by Carlo Delfino, historian and writer of heroic cycling.
