After two days characterized by several climbs, the third stage of the Giro d'Abruzzo smiles upon the sprinters: today's program features the Oricola Piana del Cavaliere - San Benedetto dei Marsi route of 159 km with 1100 meters of elevation gain.

It is an almost entirely flat stage with a brief climb in the initial section that then leads into the Fucino plain. The route passes through Magliano de' Marsi, Celano, Gioia dei Marsi to reach San Benedetto dei Marsi where a 27.7 km circuit is covered characterized by gentle rolling terrain. The roads are quite wide and all city passages are characterized by the usual traffic obstacles.

The final kilometers are flat with straightaways until the entrance to San Benedetto dei Marsi where city streets are covered interspersed with right-angle turns: the finish is on a slight uphill but will most likely be prey to the fastest wheels.
