Galicia will host the Grand Start of the 2027 Vuelta, which will begin with a road stage in Santiago de Compostela. The announcement was made this morning, ahead of the start of the final stage of the 2026 Vuelta, during an event held at the "Punto de Encuentro".
The event was attended by Javier Guillén, General Director of the Vuelta, and Marcos Gómez, Commissioner of the Holy Year of St. James. Galicia will return as protagonist by hosting the start of the race for the ninth time; the region had already welcomed the Grand Start in 1965 and, more recently, in 2016.
