Barnabas Vas (Team United Shipping) continues to impress at the Turul României 2026. After yesterday's success in the queen stage, the Hungarian from Team United Shipping repeated his performance just 24 hours later, triumphing solo in the Brașov-Ploiești stage of 165.2 kilometers, a fraction where, after gaining an advantage 60 kilometers from the finish alongside Christian Raileanu (Romania), he left his breakaway companion behind with a masterful finisher's move just 2.2 kilometers from the line.
This victory, his third in six days considering also the win in the fourth stage of the Tour of South Bohemia, allowed him to take the lead in the overall classification just one stage from the end (the final stage on the streets of Bucharest, completely flat), putting a strong mortgage on the final yellow jersey.
As yesterday, Enea Sambinello (second yesterday) had to settle for a supporting role today: the young Italian national team rider finished in third place today, beating in a sprint the group that arrived 38 seconds behind the day's winner. Just behind him, in fifth and sixth positions respectively, were Lorenzo Basso (UC Monaco) and his teammate Andrea Alfio Bruno who, together, added further Italian color to the finishing order.
