A double success for Belgian Rutger Wouters in the second stage of the Tour of Romania, the Iași - Piatra Neamț 147.2 km route. The K.O.F.M. x Thielemans - Bildin - Van Eyck Sport Cycling Team rider crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of Irishman O'Connor, with whom he had previously launched an attack 28 kilometers from the finish, while Hungarian Pakot outsprinted the group that had broken away during the series of crosswinds characterizing the final 20 kilometers, crossing the line 13 seconds behind the two leaders. Enea Sambinello secured a strong fourth place, with Fraticelli, Basso, and Bagnara finishing in sixth, eighth, and ninth positions respectively.
Thanks to this victory, Wouters also claimed the race leader's jersey.
