Elite cycling is taking place in Pisan territory. Today marks the staging of the Tour of Tuscany – Alfredo Martini Memorial (189,400 km) with start and finish in Pontedera. The race is a round of the Italian Cup of Regions and Autonomous Provinces and will be held thanks to the Unione Ciclistica Pecciolese, headed by president Luca Di Sandro, a club that collaborates with Juventus Lari.

This is the 11th edition of the Tour of Tuscany by Pecciolese and before the start, Rossano Signorini, a sports director who recently passed away, will be remembered. Rossano was a great sports figure, an important supporter of Pecciolese and highly respected in the business world as administrator of Ecofor.

The route for this 11th edition of the "Tuscany" is as announced, with an introductory flat section of 81,200 km. In the subsequent 2 final laps of the 54,100 km circuit, Monte Serra will be climbed from the Calci side. The only minor variation is in the flat section: for organizational reasons, Casciana Terme will not be traversed through the historic center but rather on the outskirts. The race in memory of the great "Blue Admiral" Alfredo Martini will depart at 1 PM from Viale Italia in unofficial form. The official start will be given at Lavaiano, after a transfer of 7,700 km at touring pace.
166 competitors will participate.

Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe is tackling the Tuscany with heavy artillery. Among its top riders is rising star Lorenzo Finn, Junior World Champion 2024, Under 23 world champion in 2025 and winner this year of the Giro d'Italia Next Gen and Tour de l'Avenir. Team manager Cesare Benedetti is also counting heavily on Giulio Pellizzari, who won a stage at the Tour of Germany during the summer phase of the season, and will also have at his disposal Australian Jai Hindley, Daniel Martinez (Colombia) and Florian Lipowitz (Germany) who will be able to make their mark on the Serra's hairpins. Completing the list of Red Bull's top riders for Pontedera are Spaniard Haimar Etxeberria and the very strong biker Adrien Boichis (France).

Bahrain-Victorious will aim to perform well in Valdera with Antonio Tiberi, Lenny Martinez (France) and Matej Mohoric (Slovenia), while EF Education-Easypost is counting on American Neilson Powless who triumphed in Italy at the Gran Piemonte. Stefano Zanini directs XDS – Astana with French climber Clement Champoussin who would like a repeat in Pontedera. Champoussin won the "Tuscany" in 2024. Zanini's team will also aim for success with Christian Scaroni, coming off 2nd place at the Gran Premio di Larciano, Diego Ulissi and Simone Velasco. The UAE Emirates' top riders will certainly shine in the critical phase of the race, namely Swiss Jan Christen, Benoit Cosnefroy (France) and Filippo Baroncini.
Other riders will contribute to making the Tour of Tuscany – Alfredo Martini Memorial electrifying. Riders like Michael Storer, 2nd place finisher in the 2024 and '25 editions, Jordan Jegat, 3rd last year, climber Einer Rubio, Ben O'Connor, Felix Engelhardt, Johan Blanc, Anders Johannessen, Simon Carr, Ion Izagirre, Mathys Rondel, Odd Christian Eiking, Santi Umba Lopez, Dylan Teuns are ready to unleash fireworks on the 2nd assault of Serra.

As for the Italians, Samuele Battistella, Lorenzo Milesi, Domenico Pozzovivo, Andrea Vendrame, Thomas Pesenti, Alessandro Fancellu, Fausto Masnada, and Edoardo Zamperini will certainly want to race as protagonists.

Rai Sport will broadcast the "Tuscany" live from 4:15 PM. The Tour of Tuscany and Gran Premio Città di Pecciol/Coppa Sabatini, a race scheduled for Thursday, are linked by a challenge named after Alfredo Martini. All the main protagonists of the Tuscany will participate in the Sabatini, including Finn, Pellizzari, Tiberi, Ulissi, Scaroni, except Martinez.
