In a surprise move, at least according to statements released by the team and Mauro Gianetti himself no later than this morning, Tadej Pogacar underwent surgery this afternoon at Barcelona's hospital. Dr. Adrian Rotunno, medical director of Team UAE Emirates-XRG, explains: "This afternoon, Tadej successfully underwent surgical intervention on his left collarbone, after receiving clearance to proceed with the operation. The procedure went well and the rider will remain in hospital for several days for post-operative monitoring. When he is ready, Tadej will return home to begin his recovery and rehabilitation under the supervision of the team's medical staff. We will continue to carefully monitor his progress throughout the entire recovery process".
