Italy continues to shine on the trails of Daolasa di Commezzadura. Following the gold medal won this morning by Valentina Corvi in the U23 Women's Cross-country, another Italian medal arrives at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships Val di Sole-Trentino: it's silver and bears the signature of Martina Berta, protagonist of a race marked by character, courage and excellent pacing.

The 28-year-old from Valle d'Aosta takes second place on the podium in the Elite Women's Cross-country, behind the unstoppable Swiss rider Sina Frei, and secures Italy's fourth medal of this world championship. Third place goes to fellow Swiss rider Nicole Koller, who was edged out in a sprint by the Italian champion.

It's still a long day in Daolasa, as Val di Sole wants to keep the Italian flag flying high: all eyes are now on the grand finale of the men's race (starting at 15:15), with Simone Avondetto and Luca Braidot ready to test their skills against the multidiscipline aces, Mathieu van der Poel, Tom Pidcock and Short Track World Champion Adrien Boichis.

"It's incredible, this medal was the big goal of the season", commented Martina Berta. - "I managed to arrive in top form and I'm very happy with the result I achieved. I want to thank my family and my coach, with whom we always manage to do excellent work.
