It appears that Emilien Jacquelin's relationship with road cycling is destined to continue. The standard-bearer of Decathlon CGA CGM since last May, after winning two medals at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics, the thirty-one-year-old from Villard seems set to pursue the experience he has lived on two wheels in recent months, putting his biathlon career on hold.

According to reports from L'Équipe, Jacquelin will attempt to cultivate the dream of competing at the highest levels of professional cycling next season as well, not returning to compete in the sport that, until last winter, had established him as one of the most recognized biathletes of recent years.

To succeed in this mission, Jacquelin has placed himself in the hands of an agent who should facilitate the search for a team for 2027, given that, at the moment, it is not certain whether he will continue his adventure with Dominique Serieys' team either at World Tour level (the French squad already has 22 riders under contract for the coming season) or in the Devo team.

With a manager at his side, the two-time world champion in the pursuit could more concretely explore the possible interest of other teams (presumably still flying the French flag) to whom his potential signing could also benefit from an image and visibility standpoint.

Pending official confirmation of his future, Jacquelin has meanwhile put together important months of preparation and weeks (the most recent ones) of racing where, one after another, he has taken part in Polynormande, Tour de Limousin and the Mediterranean Games, concretely fueling that spark of passion that convinced him a few months ago to attempt the adventure in the world of cycling.
