Max Sciandri will leave Movistar at the end of the season. After eight years spent in the technical staff of the Spanish team, the sports director is ready to embark on a new adventure, although his professional future remains to be defined at the moment.
Sciandri, reached by tuttobiciweb, explained that he has not yet made a decision for 2027. His attention is indeed focused on the end of the season and, in particular, on the final Italian appointments with Movistar. At the moment, therefore, there is nothing concrete for next year, except for some informal conversations with friends and insiders from a couple of WorldTour teams.
At Movistar, meanwhile, there is room for a well-known face. Giovanni Visconti will arrive, who, after racing with the Spanish team from 2012 to 2016, will join the technical staff of the team led by Eusebio Unzué.
Visconti, currently working at Jayco AlUla in the role of talent scout, is therefore preparing to leave the Australian team after an experience that he himself - as he told tuttobiciweb - considers fundamental in his professional journey. A period that has allowed him to know and experience cycling from a different perspective, building the foundations for a possible transition to the other side of the fence.
The final confirmation of the Visconti-Movistar operation should come in the coming weeks. A true homecoming, no longer in the saddle of a bicycle, but in the Movistar team car.
