Netcompany Ineos was the last team to announce its roster for the Vuelta España: the reason? Simple, Josh Tarling. Just eight days ago, the young Welsh rider lost his younger brother Finlay in a tragic accident on the roads of the Volta a Portugal. The British team gave the necessary time to the young Welsh rider to think, reflect and decide. And in the end Tarling, who just a few weeks ago competed in his first Tour de France, has decided: he will be there.
Oscar Onley will lead a versatile and balanced Netcompany INEOS: the twenty-three-year-old Scottish rider will be supported by a strong and experienced group that includes Carlos Rodríguez, Jack Haig, Lucas Hamilton and the Vuelta debutant Embret Svestad-Bårdsen.
Time trial specialist Axel Laurance will also make his debut, along with Ben Turner, who claimed his first Grand Tour stage victory at the Vuelta in 2025.
Completing the roster is time trial specialist Josh Tarling, who returns to racing after his debut in 2024 and his recent participation in his first Tour de France.
Geraint Thomas, Sport Director, stated: "The Vuelta is a great opportunity for us to conclude the Grand Tours season on a high note. I have confidence in the team we will bring and in its ability to adapt to any surprises the race may hold over the next three weeks. It will be a tough race, as always happens at the Vuelta, but the team is united and eager to face it. This is Oscar's first Grand Tour participation with us and he is ambitious, enthusiastic and eager to race. He has had some setbacks this season, but his victory at Burgos proved that he has recovered well and that he has good legs. We know what he is capable of, so we are giving him the freedom to race and enjoy himself. It goes without saying that, as a team, we fully support Josh in his decision to participate in the race".
Oscar Onley stated: "I am really excited to participate in the Vuelta and my first Grand Tour with the team. We have a good mix of riders that gives us many opportunities during the race. Personally, I feel very good at the moment and I can't wait to test myself over the next few weeks!"
