Following the presentation in the Pegaso Hall of the Tuscany Region in Florence, a gala evening for the 57th Buffoni Trophy at Villa Schiff, the seat of the Municipality of Montignoso. Less than a month remains until the international race on September 13th, which is shaping up as usual to achieve the customary great success both in terms of participation numbers (176 riders, which is the maximum number for 36 teams) and quality.
A prestigious appointment that represents an extraordinary international showcase, and an important opportunity for growth for many young athletes aged 17 and 18 who will be the protagonists of tomorrow's cycling. Great satisfaction was also expressed by the president of the Francesco Buffoni group, which organizes the race, Fabio Del Giudice, both for the collaboration and support of the Tuscany Region and the municipal administrations of Forte dei Marmi, the starting location, and Montignoso for the finish. For this year's edition in Forte dei Marmi in Piazza Garibaldi, the meeting point, a structure will be set up by the Municipality that will host activities related to the race. As for the participants, it should be noted that there will be ten national teams present: Germany, Slovenia, Colombia, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Poland, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Switzerland, to which will be added the best Italian juniors.
Naturally, the classic route of 135 kilometers and 400 meters is confirmed, with official start at 1:30 PM from the bridge over the Versilia River in the Cinquale locality after a brief transfer section. At the start of the race, the Versilia circuit will be completed four times (Forte dei Marmi-Cinquale-Bonotti-Querceta-Forte dei Marmi) followed by the Fortezza circuit (Bonotti-Fortezza-Strettoia-Bonotti) to be repeated six times, with the finish on a slight climb at Villa Schiff, where in 2025 Frenchman Nolan Pedersoli won ahead of Bernardi and Pascarella.
