Soudal Quick-Step is pleased to announce that Lorenzo Milesi will join the team starting next season with a three-year contract.

Originally from San Pellegrino Terme, in the province of Bergamo, Lorenzo turned professional four years ago following a successful period in the Under 23 category. During that time, he won stages at the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux and the Tour de l'Avenir, before demonstrating all his power in the 36.2 km individual time trial in Stirling, claiming the Under 23 world championship title.

Since joining the WorldTour, Lorenzo has come close to his first professional victory on several occasions and has already participated in four Grand Tours. His most recent result came at this year's Giro d'Italia, where he achieved three top-ten finishes: two in breakaways, at Potenza and Fermo, and another in the race's only individual time trial, in Massa.

"I'm happy and can't wait to start a new chapter in my career. When I started racing, this team was one of my favorites, so you can imagine my joy at the idea of wearing this jersey from next year, especially after having participated in a training camp with the team during my junior career. It was a pretty straightforward decision," Milesi said after signing a three-year contract.

Lorenzo has big personal ambitions for his first year with the team and is enthusiastic about continuing to grow within Soudal Quick-Step: "I love time trials, but I also do well on short climbs and I hope to improve in both aspects next season. I want to be at the team's service, help it win when needed, and prove what I'm capable of, also aiming for good personal results when I have the opportunity".
