Excellent start for Alessandro Battistoni in the Aubel‑Thimister‑Stavelot stage race for juniors. The rider from the Marche region competing for Pool Cantù GB Junior, coming off the back of a brilliant victory at the Memorial Colò di Brugnato, has confirmed his consistent form by securing a valuable third place in the opening stage, the Aubel‑Aubel time trial of 97 km.
The first stage was decided by a two-rider breakaway that brought Slovenian Bohak and Estonian Suppi to the finish line in first and second place respectively. Battistoni crossed the line just 2 seconds behind, a sign of brilliant condition and an ability to perform effectively in international races as well.

Among the top finishers, Francesco Dell'Olio (Vangi Tommasini Il Pirata) and Andrea Gabriele Alessiani also stood out, finishing sixth and seventh respectively, demonstrating a competitive Italian presence from the very start of the Belgian race.
