Having wrapped up a brilliant stint at the Italian Track National Championships, crowned by the conquest of three national jerseys and three bronze medals, Autozai Contri is ready to return to the spotlight on the road. After a weekend break, the satellite team of World Tour squad Soudal Quick-Step will line up on Saturday, August 8th, for the 11th Gran Premio della Garfagnana - Memorial Gino Bartali, in the province of Lucca.
The Tuscan race will unfold over a 109-kilometre course. After an initial circuit to be repeated five times, riders will tackle a longer and more demanding loop twice, designed to whittle down the field and shape the battle for victory.
For the occasion, Autozai Contri will present a competitive lineup featuring newly crowned Italian Points Race Champion Alberto Donà, alongside Andrea Furlanis, Thomas Mariotto, Mathias Paludetti, Marco Pierotto, Manuel Salmaso and Davide Zanei.
The race will mark the return to road competition following the satisfying results achieved on the Turin velodrome and will offer Autozai Contri's riders another opportunity to confirm their current strong form and continue their growth trajectory ahead of the second half of the season's key appointments.
