Fast wheels took center stage in the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Burgos, the Palazuelos de Muñó - Briviesca route covering 178 km. Victory went to British rider Matthew Brennan of Visma | Lease a Bike, who prevailed only in a photo finish over New Zealander Pithie and Spaniard González.

Brennan thus repeats the success he achieved in the opening stage and brings his tally of victories in the top category to 18. As for the general classification, on the eve of the final stage, Austrian Gall remains in command with a 6-second advantage over Ciccone and 7 seconds over British rider Onley.
