The statement arrived late in the evening and read tersely: "Gianni Moscon has been disqualified from the Vuelta a Burgos and has also received a UCI yellow card for a violation of article 2.12.007 – 8.2.1, relating to improper conduct and misconduct towards other riders".

The Trentino rider crossed the finish line of yesterday's stage 13'03" behind winner Gall, was regularly included in the race results and then his name disappeared. At the moment there are no further details about the incident – except for the photo of Luis Angel Gomez that we are publishing in which Moscon can be seen arguing with the race officials' vehicle – nor any comments from the rider or his German team.
