If throughout your long cycling history you have registered athletes from 44 different nations, it's only natural that when people talk about the globalization of two-wheeled racing, your name comes up more often than others.

And if at the last Tour de France, "founding" nations like France, Italy and Spain for the first time in history don't even win a single stage, it's only natural that people speak of new frontiers and your name bounces around here and there.

And if you're a good salesman, and Ivano Fanini undoubtedly is one, you certainly don't miss the opportunity to open some pages of history and connect the exploits of the Grande Boucle to those who have passed through Lucca and your team.

"The jewel in the crown," explains the Tuscan manager, historic patron of Amore&Vita, "is Lenny Martinez's fifth place finish who, as a very young rider, first pedaled with the Fanini jersey (in the photo, Lenny with father Miguel), winning his first races: his father Miguel, Olympic champion in MTB in 2000 in Sydney and multiple world champion, raced in 2008 and 2020 with Amore e Vita and Lenny has remained connected to us and to Tuscany. I'm convinced he still has to express the best of his abilities and can achieve even more important results".

"I was also thrilled by Richard Carapaz, a rider who was launched by Juan Carlos Rosero, who raced with us winning the Giro di Mendoza in Argentina in 1987, the first foreigner to win that competition, and was the first Ecuadorian cyclist to race in Europe. And today Carapaz is coached by Michele Bartoli, a champion who grew up in Fanini's youth teams".

Regret over Vingegaard's crash...
"Jonas was the only rider who could have tried to worry Pogacar in the final week, but unfortunately a crash put him out of contention. I have repeatedly recalled that it was my former rider Brian Pedersen who discovered him, he was with me in the 1990-91 biennium, who guided him from 2016 to 2019. Besides, my relationship with Danish cycling is based on very distant roots, we can practically say that the movement of that nation was born and developed in Lunata, at the Amore&Vita headquarters".

Without reaching a historically important relationship like the one with Danish cycling, Fanini at the Tour also followed the NSN Cycling Team with careful attention, led by Finnish general manager Kiell Carlstrom, who turned professional with Amore e Vita in 2002 and raced there successfully for three years. In the Swiss team's technical staff there is also Alex Cataford, a former cyclist who also raced with Amore e Vita in 2014 and Francesco Frassi, who was the team manager for several years at Team Fanini.
"I'm satisfied and will always have good memories of having developed cycling in different nations. Among all of them, Denmark is the one I most represented with my teams—the result of the historic friendship that binds me to Ole Ritter—and I'm pleased to note that today it has reached the world's highest levels thanks to a generation of top-level athletes. Thinking back to the Tour podium, I remember also registering Slovenian Valter Bonca in 1992-93 and Mexicans Alvarez (2002), Colex (2010-2011) and Martins (2012-2017), but in these cases you certainly can't speak of a school... Of course, I miss the Belgium of Evenepoel, but that's another planet. I'm happy to have gone with my teams to discover the world...".
