After many attempts, it was only natural that it would happen with a champion like Eddy Scquizzato finally met Tadej Pogačar. The meeting took place in Sondrio the day before the Tour of Switzerland started. Apparently the miniature bike brought good luck to Tadej, because the phenomenon won the 2026 Tour of Switzerland, conquering the race for the first time in his career. The Slovenian from UAE Team Emirates-XRG dominated the competition, winning three stages and the general classification with a wide margin over his rivals.

"The meeting," Eddy recounts, "was very quick, just time for a signature and off we went, but it made my months of work something extraordinary". The gift that Eddy gave to Tadej is Tadej's Colnago Y1Rs in 1/10 scale: it is the bike with which the Slovenian won the World Championships in Rwanda in September 2025.

"For the occasion I had also prepared some posters of the model but I wasn't able to get him to sign them - adds Eddy Scquizzato - if he allows me, I would like to gift him one".

Eddy Scquizzato, from Piombino Dese in the Padua region, 33 years old, former cyclist up to the amateur category, was among other things a winner of an Oscar tuttoBICI in the Youth category.

It all started with a 3D drawing, trying to reproduce the real bike in the best possible way, since the model will be printed in 3D resin. "Subsequently I divided the model into pieces, 40 to be precise, - recounts Eddy Scquizzato - a necessary step for three reasons: printing, coloring and assembly. The components, in fact, must be printed with the best possible quality and detail, so they can be colored and assembled correctly".

Then he removed the pieces from the printing supports using cutters and specific scale modeling pliers: "I cleaned them with degreaser and subsequently sanded them until they were smooth to prepare them for coloring".

One of the most complex parts of the entire model is the construction of the wheels: despite being in scale, they are made like a real wheel. Eddy Scquizzato used micro-drills to pierce the hubs and rim for the passage of the spokes. In the hub (both front and rear) there are 24 holes of 0.3 mm, while in the rims the holes are 0.4 mm. The spokes are made of 0.2 mm steel wire.

The colors used are acrylic-based, specific for scale modeling, applied with an airbrush. Every single step requires attention and attention to detail, reference photos are very useful in this phase: it is necessary to carefully observe the real colors, the shades and the glossy or matte finish of the piece.

Once all the pieces were colored, decals were applied and subsequently, protective clear varnish. The decals were developed and then printed specifically for this model. The model measures approximately 162 millimeters in length and 100 millimeters in height. It is composed of 40 pieces in resin, colored and assembled by hand: for each model approximately 60 hours of work are required, necessary to make it a high-quality product as faithful as possible to the original. "I would like to start creating out of passion the bikes of the great champions of the present and the past," concludes the Paduan builder.
