Oscar Onley secures an impressive victory in the second stage of the Vuelta a Burgos, the Arcos de la Llana – Pineda de la Sierra (Valle del Sol), a high-altitude finish that whittled down the field in the decisive closing phases.

The Netcompay INEOS rider outsprinted Giulio Ciccone (Lidl‑Trek) in a two-man battle, the pair having broken clear from a group of around a dozen riders on the final slopes. The two riders created a gap in the hardest section, managing their advantage all the way to the decisive sprint.

Behind them, Enric Mas takes third place, ahead of young talent Widar and Gall, who played key roles in the final selection but were unable to close the gap to the leading duo.
