Today marks exactly 100 years since the triumph of the Italian champion in the third stage of the Basque Country, the Vitoria-Pamplona race. No one, on that August 5th, 1926, would have predicted that it would be the last feat in the international cycling career of the great climber and road cyclist. Even less would anyone have foreseen his mysterious disappearance, which occurred a year later.
Today everyone is in the saddle, with the same pioneering spirit of those days, with the same equipment and with the same emotion on two wheels...
