Marco Manenti, neo-professional at Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber, has suffered a non-displaced scaphoid fracture of his right hand following a crash in the fourth stage of the Tour of Denmark.
Marco Manenti will be forced into a period of rest after the crash that occurred in the fourth stage of the Tour of Denmark. The Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber rider was involved in a crash in the final kilometers of the stage, approximately one kilometer from the finish line. Medical examinations conducted afterwards revealed a non-displaced scaphoid fracture of his right hand.
The rider from Bergamo will need to wear a brace for approximately 40 days before gradually resuming competitive activity.
«I crashed in the fourth stage, in the final phase of the race, about one kilometer from the finish. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to avoid the crash. The initial diagnosis ruled out fractures, but after a second examination, a non-displaced scaphoid fracture was detected. It's certainly a forced break that I'm disappointed about, but I'm looking ahead: I'll return to racing with even more motivation and determination to perform well».
