After 10 years spent with Groupama-FDJ United, next season Valentin Madouas will race with French team Cofidis. An era comes to an end for the Breton rider: Team Cofidis officially announced the arrival of the rider this morning with a two-year contract.

At 30 years old, the 2023 French champion and silver medalist at the Paris Olympic Games, has decided to reinvigorate himself within the Cofidis squad. A complete, hardworking rider and exemplary teammate, he intends to put his experience at the service of the team to aim for new victories. Valentin has signed for the next two seasons.

"I was very impressed by the positive discussions I had with Raphaël Jeune and the Cofidis team. This choice is truly deliberate: I found great honesty and I really appreciated the team's willingness to get me back on track and make me feel their confidence. My objective is simple: achieve good results and show exemplary behavior in the major races. I am someone who works hard and I like to be in a team where I feel good to express myself at 100%. I still have so much fun on the bike and I want to bring out the best in myself. My experience is added value and I also hope to pass it on to the younger members of the team".

He has been French champion, Olympic vice-champion and has achieved many brilliant results in prestigious races such as Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders and the general classification of the Tour de France. Beyond being a great cyclist and champion, he has a very pleasant personality. Since his professional debut, I have always kept an eye on his results, his way of racing, his qualities and his character".
