In continuity with the project launched in 2023, aimed at allowing very young athletes to enter the elite category and gain familiarity with professional cycling, Vini Fantini-BePink's roster expands with the arrival of two stagiaires, who will compete with the squad in some of the races scheduled for the second half of the season. This year, from the Junior ranks, the team has selected the promising Emma Bonissi and Emma Gottoli.
Emma Bonissi was born on February 23, 2008, comes from Fontanella (BG) and is a puncheur-climber with aptitude for uphill finishes and time trials. Racing for Petrucci Gauss Cycling Team, she competed with the Italian Junior National Team at the Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie femmes (2.Ncup) and, also in France, at the Valromay Tour Féminin (1.1) with the Lombardy selection.
Emma Gottoli, born in 2007 (she turned 19 on July 4), races for Team Wilier Breganze and is from Pescantina, Verona. A climber and time trial specialist, in June she secured victory in the Gran Premio Consorzio Marmisti hill climb at Lugo di Grezzana (VR).
Emma Bonissi stated: "I am very grateful for this opportunity and to be able to undertake this stage with Vini Fantini-BePink. From this experience, I expect to test myself against a higher level and to learn as much as possible both from my older teammates and from the team staff."
Emma Gottoli commented: "I am very happy and cannot wait to prove myself in this new environment. I believe this experience can be very important and meaningful for my personal and sporting growth."
Team Manager Walter Zini said: "We are pleased to welcome Bonissi and Gottoli to the squad, two girls who have distinguished themselves on various occasions, thus demonstrating they deserve this experience. They will certainly make the most of this opportunity, which we hope will be positive and full of satisfaction."
Bonissi and Gottoli will make their debut with the team on Sunday, August 2 at the Giro della Provincia di Pordenone, a 108 km race. Along with them in Valvasone Arzene (PN), Delfina Dibella, Maho Kakita, Sonia Rossetti, Sofia Arici, Gaia Segato, Andrea Casagranda, Misia Belotti and Elisa Valtulini will also line up.
Today, instead, Vini Fantini-BePink will be at the start of the Italian Elite/U23 Women's Team Time Trial Championship in Codroipo (UD). The squad composed of Segato, Casagranda, Valtulini and De Laurentiis will compete in the 29 km course that will award the Tricolour title in this team discipline.
