Swiss success at the 83rd Bassano–Monte Grappa, one of the most prestigious classics on the amateur calendar. The feat was signed by Nicola Zumsteg, a Swiss rider from Biesse Carrera Premac, who managed to impose himself solo at the finish line after the decisive selection along the slopes of Grappa.

Behind him came Jacopo Pignatti from Padovani POLO Cherry Bank, while the third step of the podium was conquered by Riccardo Drei from Beltrami TSA La Risorsa Umana (a club team that serves as a feeder for Continental Beltrami TSA Tre Colli) protagonist of a comeback performance in the final stages.

For the Brescia-based team of Simone Boifava and Bruno Bindoni, directed by former professionals Marco Milesi and Bruno Nicoletti, this is the third victory after the success in the Belarusian time trial championship by Ilya Slesarenko and the Italian Gravel title by Filippo Agostinacchio.

Dario Nicoletti (sports director Team Biesse Carrera Premac): "We all raced for Nicola, very compact, the guys did great work on the flat, coordinated by the great experience of Giacomo Villa, which allowed us to bring Zumsteg into the very first positions at the start of the climb, then he was always with the best. When he attacked about 8 kilometers from the finish I understood he was feeling good, but I advised him via radio to wait a bit longer because in that section the gradients weren't yet steep enough to make the difference. Then Nicola managed the finale very well, attacking twice, the last time in the final kilometer where he made the difference. It's a victory that gives morale to the whole team and launches us with great confidence and form in the remaining part of the season".

Nicola Zumsteg (winner): "I'm really happy, it's my first victory with Team Biesse Carrera Premac and it has a special meaning for me. It comes after a difficult period, with some tough days, so this success means even more. This area brings me luck, having won last year the Zanè-Monte Cengio which I can't wait to race again next week. I'm very pleased to have won again on these roads. Did I expect the victory before racing? Honestly no, but during the race I understood I had excellent sensations and I thought today could be the right day. I dedicate this success to my family and my coaches, who have always been by my side even in difficult moments".
