It was an evening of stars that officially kicked off the countdown to the 50th Gp Sportivi di Poggiana - Gran Premio 2G Verniciatura - Trofeo Bonin Costruzioni. The international event reserved for Under 23 riders scheduled in Poggiana di Riese Pio X (Tv) on Sunday, August 9th, organized once again this year by the staff of the Uc Asolo Bike Poggiana under President Giampietro Bonin, was presented during the traditional gala evening held at the Rino Fior Restaurant in Castelfranco Veneto (Tv).

THE PRESENTATION EVENING - A grand vernissage that counted among its guests the Regional Assessor for Sport, Paola Roma, the Regional Councilman, Stefano Marcon and the Treviso Provincial Councilman, Frediano Brotto, in the presence of the Mayor of Riese Pio X, Ombretta Basso and the Sports Assessor, Agnese Fantin together with the Mayor of Loria, Alberto Battistella who underscored the importance of an event that for half a century has been an unmissable point of reference for enthusiasts and athletes.

Representing the FCI was President Cordiano Dagnoni, accompanied by National Councilman Sandro Checchin, the President of FCI Veneto, Mario Guerretta and the Vice-President of the Treviso Provincial Committee, Gianluca Negro.

To relive the emotions of 50 years of great cycling were some legendary former riders starting with the 2008 World Champion from Varese, Alessandro Ballan and former professional Marco Bandiera, who have always been close to the Poggiana organizers. Along with them, 13 winners of the Gp Sportivi di Poggiana of the caliber of Andrea Zordan, Matteo Priamo, Giorgio Furlan, Walter Zini, Maurizio Civran, Diego Dagli Orti, Roberto Zoccarato, Stefano Finesso, Andrea Moletta, Luigi Simeon, Paolo Lanfranchi, Manuele Mori and Fabio Mazzucco. To enrich the memory album, there were also remote interventions with many cycling champions who did not want to miss sending their greetings to the large audience in attendance.

During the evening, with the presence of influencer Lello Ferrara, in connection from the Tour de France, Mattia Cattaneo also intervened, the only athlete to win two editions of the Poggiana classic.

"Reaching the milestone of 50 editions is an honor for our entire staff that has worked hard for years to arrange every detail of this event. I want to remember the passion of my father Francesco, of Mansueto Bonin and of Giuseppe Pellizzari who had the idea and passion to bring this event to life. Our task has been to continue in the tradition while always adding some novelty to make this event unique" explained the President of Uc Asolo Bike Poggiana, Giampietro Bonin. "I want to thank all our collaborators, starting with my irreplaceable vice Loris Civiero, all the institutions and sponsors who stand by us to allow us to make all this happen. Next August 9th will be an authentic Stars Combat, a true celebration, to commemorate half a century of cycling in the best possible way."

SIX JERSEYS AT STAKE AND A STAR - The trophy that will be lifted to the sky by the winner of the 50th Gp Sportivi di Poggiana will be a sparkling star, image of the 50 years of the Poggiana classic in Riese Pio X. Created by the same company that signs the iconic Trofeo Senza Fine of the Giro d'Italia, this prestigious recognition will celebrate the 50 years of the Gp Sportivi di Poggiana with a modern and elegant design. The star, symbol of ambition and success, embodies the value of a competition that over its five decades of history has seen some of the greatest talents of international cycling emerge and establish themselves. A work that combines artisanal mastery, innovation and prestige, destined to become an icon of one of the most important classics in the international Under 23 landscape.

Six jerseys are at stake: the winner will receive the yellow jersey 2G Verniciatura, the second place the black jersey Elettrica B&C, the third place the orange jersey of Surfaces. The winner of the Mountain Classification will wear the light blue jersey Banca delle Terre Venete; the most combative rider, as is now tradition, will receive the multicolor jersey of GSG. The novelty of 2026 will be, finally, the introduction of the white jersey Mardegan Legno which will go to the best young rider at the finish line.
