Great emotions immediately on the track of the "Attilio Pavesi" Velodrome for the 29th edition of the International Grand Prix – 6 Days of the White Roses, which began today and will continue until Saturday evening. Many races from late afternoon onwards, with the evening enhanced by an exhibition by the Pontolliese Band Corps with the Majorettes. Among the guests of the evening was UEC President and UCI Vice President Enrico Della Casa. Below is the race-by-race report of the first day.

POINTS RACE MEN UNDER 23 – G.P. PAVINORD, SIERRA WINS THE FIRST FINAL OF THE EVENING

The Points Race Under 23 men – G.P. Pavinord, the first final of the inaugural evening, was won by Juan David Sierra, who delivered a performance of great consistency across the fifteen sprints scheduled. The Italian from Tudor Pro Cycling U23 finished with 68 points, ahead of Ilya Savekin (63) and Nikita Tsvetkov (50). Fourth place went to another Italian, Davide Stella.

SCRATCH WOMEN UNDER 23 – G.P. FERRI INTONACI E MALTE, WINNING SPRINT BY MAHO KAKITA

The Women's Under 23 Scratch – G.P. Ferri Intonaci e Malte concluded with a compact sprint, with Japanese rider Maho Kakita winning decisively ahead of Swiss Janice Stettler and Belarusian Alina Karotkina. Just off the podium was the best Italian, Linda Sanarini, fourth after 25 laps of racing.

ELIMINATION MEN UNDER 23 – G.P. BUSSANDRI, FIORIN TRIUMPHS IN EUROPEAN CHAMPION'S JERSEY

Matteo Fiorin claimed the G.P. Bussandri, the Men's Under 23 Elimination race. The Italian, racing in the European champion's jersey he had just won in Cottbus, confirmed his excellent form by winning the final two-up sprint against Ilya Savekin, beaten by about a bike length. Slovak Tadeáš Cesnek took third place on the podium.

MADISON WOMEN UNDER 23 – G.P. SIDERPIGHI, DANSHINA-KOKAREVA PAIR WINS

Success for the pair formed by Polina Danshina and Aglaya Kokareva in the Women's Under 23 American – G.P. Siderpighi. The two athletes built their victory sprint after sprint, closing with 36 points ahead of the tandem composed of Czech Vendula Strataká and Swiss Janice Stettler (24). Third place went to Belarus with Alina Karotkina and Kseniya Shynkarenka. The Italian pair Linda Sanarini and Irma Siri finished fifth.

KEIRIN WOMEN – G.P. ALU TECNO, VAN DER PEET WINS AHEAD OF VECE

The first Elite Women's Keirin race held in Fiorenzuola since the specialty's return to the program was won by Dutch rider Steffie Van der Peet, the reigning world champion in team sprint, who won the final ahead of Italian Miriam Vece. Spanish Helena Casas Roige took third place on the podium, while fellow Italian Matilde Cenci finished in fifth position.

KEIRIN MEN – G.P. CAFFÈ RAMENZONI, PREDOMO BEATS CHOI

The Men's Keirin – G.P. Caffè Ramenzoni concluded with an Italian victory, won by Mattia Predomo. The Italian got the better of South Korean Choi Tae-ho, two of the great protagonists expected at the event, while Polish Mateusz Rudyk completed the podium. Fabio Del Medico also put in a good performance, finishing fourth at the line.
