Italy topped the medal count at the European Junior and Under 23 Track Cycling Championships in Cottbus. Many of the young Italian athletes who starred in the continental competition will now compete at the International Grand Prix of Fiorenzuola – 6 Days of the White Roses, scheduled for July 20-25 at the "Attilio Pavesi" Velodrome.

Among the entries are double European Under 23 champion Renato Favero (Individual and Team Pursuit), Mattia Predomo, gold medalist in Individual and Team Sprint Under 23, Matteo Fiorin, winner of the Elimination and Team Pursuit, as well as European Team Sprint champions Fabio Del Medico, Stefano Minuta and Thomas Melotto. Also competing on the track will be Christian Fantini, Etienne Grimod and Ares Costa, gold medalists in Team Pursuit, Davide Stella, silver medalist in the Omnium, Anita Baima, silver in Elimination and bronze in Team Sprint, and Matilde Cenci and Siria Trevisan, bronze medalists in Team Sprint.
