Plenty of medals again today for Italy on the final day of the Under 23 and Juniors European Championships held in Cottbus, Germany.
In the men's junior madison, Nicola Padovan and Jacopo Vendramin claimed second place with the silver medal, giving way in the final to the powerful comeback of Germans Raul Esch and Leon Resag who finished with 33 points. Bronze medal went to Belgians Sune De Valck and Cedric Van Gijsel.
Silver also in the women's junior madison won by Agata Campana and Matilde Rossignoli who finished behind Russians Olga Kostina and Angelina Novolodsakaya, while third place went to British riders Melanie Rowe and Phoebe Taylor.
Italian double in the men's sprint with second place for Matteo Ghirelli, beaten in the final by Russian Mikhail Denish, and bronze for Filippo Cusumano, who in the third-place race defeated German Leonidas Rekowski.
In the kilometre time trial for junior women, silver medal for Maya Ferrante, beaten by Belarusian Angelina Shastak, while the podium was completed by Belgian Jana Gevers.
