A day full of satisfaction for Italy on the opening day of the European track cycling championships for Juniors and Under 23. In addition to the four titles won, other medals were also secured.

WOMEN'S UNDER 23 ELIMINATION. Anita Baima claimed silver in the Under 23 elimination race, finishing second in the final sprint to Belarusian Palina Konrad.

MEN'S JUNIOR TEAM SPRINT. A bronze medal came from the Junior Team Sprint thanks to Filippo Cusumano, Matteo Ghirelli, Cesare Castellani and Ivan Mosè Borghi Pelizzoni who competed in the qualifying round. In the bronze medal race, the Italian team decisively defeated Poland. The European title went to Germany, which prevailed over Great Britain.
