Prompt reporting, police intervention, and skillful law enforcement work, combined with GPS trackers in the bike frames: thanks to all of this, the State Police, through synergistic collaboration between officers from the Cuneo and Turin Police Headquarters, have recovered 5 bicycles that were stolen in Cuneo last Sunday following the Fausto Coppi Granfondo.
Officers from the Cuneo Police Headquarters, using GPS positioning, traced a vehicle traveling on the highway in the direction of Turin. Numerous patrols in a circumscribed area allowed them to identify a man entering a cycling area on a racing bike. Upon seeing the officers, the man fled, abandoning the bike on the spot, which was immediately recovered. While inspecting the area, behind some caravans, agents found four additional racing bikes, with a total value of approximately 30,000 euros, which were returned to their respective owners.
