Three days together in Casciana Terme at the Livorno Hotel under the banner of comparison, friendship and team spirit—as they say, unity is strength—for the group of young Tuscan female cyclists in the Beginners and Youth categories who will compete next Saturday in Laives in the province of Bolzano in the three Italian road race championships.
A training camp promoted by the Tuscany Regional Committee, thanks to the collaboration of the municipal administration of Casciana Terme Lari. Various moments marked the gathering with the presentation of official jerseys, followed by attendance at an artistic gymnastics exhibition, to experience together a moment of sport and spectacle. There were also two days of intense work on the roads of the area to best prepare for the tricolor event in Trentino. Finally, the press conference and team presentation took place in the Spa Hall with the presence of Vice Mayor Enrico Fatticcioni and the leaders of the Tuscany Regional Committee of cycling with president Luca Menichetti, vice chair Gaia Passerini, Andrea Diolaiuti, Giovanni Nencetti, Federico Grassi, and the regional technical director for the women's sector Michelangelo Dorangricchia.
There are 55 athletes (31 female and 24 male) who are part of the Tuscan representative group. The Beginners category females: Mannelli, Bacci, Cianti, Giusti, Gordigiani, Gorga, Guerrieri, Lazzareschi, Nutini, Santucci, Teriaca, Trapassi, Ceccarelli, Conte, Di Palma, Gismant, Lepore, Nesi, Pellegrini and Tapinassi; the Youth category females: Giovannetti, Bertolucci, Capitoni, Colzi, Di Girolamo, Donno, Ferri, Genovese, Geppi, Micchi and Pucci. The Youth category males: Gabbrielleschi, Cerofolini, Frosini, Gastasini, Ginesi, Giraldi, Leonetti, Menici, Mori and Scappini; the Beginners category males: Della Polla, Bonuccelli, Budel, Cavallini, Pegoraro, Pucci, Stefanini, Moriconi, Antongiovanni, Bartoli, Bianchi, Bolognesi, Cantini, Velaj. During the various speeches at the conference, the athletes were urged to be united and compact in order to aim for success in the tricolor championship, whose course characteristics were illustrated.
In the men's category, the last-minute news is an increase in the number of spots allocated to Tuscany for Sunday's Italian Championship. There will be 10 athletes instead of 9 as initially planned, and as the responsible party, the regional technical director Marco Lapucci and the Technical Structure have chosen Davide Giraldi of G.S. Giusfredi.
